North Jersey

Older railroad suburbs and cities close to New York, from Ridgewood and Montclair to Newark and Jersey City. Lots of pre-war brick and gas heat.

Northwest hills

Sussex, Warren and Hunterdon. The coldest corner of the state, with more oil heat and wood stoves than anywhere else in New Jersey.

Central Jersey

Somerset, Middlesex and Mercer, from Princeton's historic districts to Trenton's row homes and the newer subdivisions in between.

The Shore

Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic and Cape May. Salt air, storms and many factory-built fireplaces with metal chimneys and chase covers.

South Jersey

Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland and Salem, from Haddonfield and Collingswood to farm towns and glass towns.

Booking

Visits run Sunday to Friday in 3-hour windows: 8 to 11, 11 to 2 or 2 to 5. We call to confirm before we arrive. Prices are the same in every county.
